Ticket description
Picture this: Pilgrims from all over the globe, Pope Francis imparting his wisdom amongst them, St. Peter’s Square and its iconic colonnades encompassing them all, and yes, the majestic St. Peter’s Basilica in the backdrop.
This is what you get when you buy the General Papal Audience ticket, made all the more spectacular by witnessing Pope Francis delivering blessings and teachings from close quarters.
The presentation begins 1.5 hours before the Pope’s audience, and it entails your guide briefing you about the day’s proceedings, Rome’s Papal history, and Michelangelo, Raphael, and Bernini’s contributions in making the Vatican a treasure trove of Art and Architecture.
You’ll be provided with an audio headset so you can hear what your guide says over the crowds gathered here.
Once the Papal address starts, you can watch cardinals leading pilgrims in prayer and the pope—hopefully from close quarters—delivering his blessings for the week. The service includes hymns, prayers, and a sermon.
In case of inclement weather, the Papal Audience will be shifted indoors to the Vatican’s Audience Hall.
Note: This ticket does not include a guided tour to St. Peter’s Basilica or the Vatican Museums.
